Lacecaps and mopheads are the most commonly grown hydrangeas in our gardens. Mopheads have full, round heads of large petals, and lacecaps have flattish flower heads of large outer petals and tiny flowers in the centre.

Hydrangea ‘Blue Deckle’ is a pretty lacecap hydrangea, with frilled pink or blue blooms and gorgeous leaf colour in autumn. Like most hydrangeas. ‘Blue Deckle’ bears pinkish flowers when grown in alkaline soil, and blue flowers when grown in acidic soil.

‘Blue Deckle’ is perfect for growing in a mixed, herbaceous border, especially when used in conjunction with other hydrangeas. It makes an excellent cut flower.
