There are many types of sweet pea, including 'old fashioned' cultivars and popular Spencer varieties. They can be trained to grow up canes for high-quality blooms, or allowed to scramble up a trellis or obelisk. They make excellent cut flowers. Plants need a cool moist root run, and regular watering in dry weather.
Lathyrus odoratus 'Beeline' is a colourful mix of sweet peas, bearing masses of strongly scented flowers in shades of pink, purple, orange and white. Plants will quickly cover a trellis or obelisk, and look fantastic in cut flower arrangements.
For best results, feed Lathyrus odoratus ‘Beeline' fortnightly with a high-potash fertiliser, and deadhead regularly to prolong flowering.
