Strawberry mint, Mentha spicata subsp. citrata 'Strawberry' is a compact variety, bearing small, mid-green leaves with a mild, fruity fragrance and flavour. It's well suited to growing in containers and hanging baskets, and is less vigorous in habit than other mint varieties.

For best results grow 'Strawberry' in rich, moist but well-drained soil in full sun. Mulch annually with well-rotted compost. Plants can be cut back hard just before flowering, and leaves can be frozen to use in winter. Leaves will regrow for a second harvest in late-summer.
