Mukdenia rossii is an attractive, clump-forming perennial native to North East Asia. It bears rich green maple-like foliage, accompanied by sprays of bell-shaped, white flowers in spring. In late-summer the foliage turns a rich claret red before falling. Mukdenia rossii thrives in shady situations and is ideal for using as ground cover in shady gardens.

For best results grow Mukdenia rossii in humus-rich soil in partial to full shade. Divide large clumps in early spring, and protect new foliage from slugs and snails.
