Dwarf restio, Restio similis, forms tufts of grass-like culms, which move lightly in the wind. In summer, dark brown seedheads form. It’s a great choice for planting amongst flowering plants or other grasses in a sunny ornamental border. But it’s also suitable for growing in groups, where the mass of gently moving culms will provide dramatic effect.

Grow Restio similis in well-drained soil in a sheltered spot in full sun. Cut back the previous year’s stems in spring to promote new growth.
