The Chinese snowball, Viburnum macrocephalum, is a hardy, vigorous shrub ideal for growing in a woodland garden or a large shrub border. It bears large blousy flowers, similar to hydrangea blooms, in late spring. These start off green but gradually turn the purest white. Viburnum macrocephalum is a deciduous plant with elegant oval leaves that colour well in autumn. It will grow in most soils in full sun or light shade.
