Pippa Greenwood
Pippa has been gardening since she was four, when she would trail behind her mother as she tended her garden - she was soon given her own small plot of land. Her particular speciality is garden pests, which started after caterpillars began eating her marigolds.
She pursued her passion for gardening at Durham University, where she trained as a botanist, and then went on to gain an MSc in crop protection at Reading University. She is now one of Britain's leading plant pathologists, having run the Royal Horticultural Society's Plant Pathology Department at Wisley for 11 years.
Pippa has written a number of award-winning books, and has been a regular panellist and bug expert on Gardeners' Question Time on Radio 4 since 1994. As well as regularly appearing on BBC Two's Gardeners' World, Pippa also contributes to Gardeners' World Magazine.
You can read Pippa's top tips and garden musings in her weekly blog on this site.
