The outstanding flowers of this new daphne variety are not only larger than other varieties, but they also offer an incredibly intense fragrance that is often likened to a traditional, vintage perfume. Deep-purple buds appear in February, which open to reveal ombre-shaded pink and white blooms above dark, glossy foliage, which is retained for most of the year in warmer areas of the UK.
Known as the ‘flamingo willow’, Salix integra ‘Hakuro-nishiki’ erupts into a fountain of colour every spring, with green, cream and powder-pink leaves. The tree has been grafted to grow in a standard lollipop form, with a clear stem and a ball of colour on top. Totally hardy, the flamingo willow is low maintenance and will make a colourful statement plant or, can be planted in pairs in large pots.
Rosa Cutie Pie is a compact patio rose, perfect for dotting around the garden in pots or in the front of a border. It has thorn-free stems and each plant spreads to form a low mound that becomes studded with an abundance of gorgeous, scented, apple-blossom like, pale-pink flowers over summer.
