Adjustable handles, lightweight and comfortable to use
Ad
In a nutshell
A BBC Gardeners’ World Magazine Best Buy award winner, these lawn edging shears are extremely lightweight and have adjustable handles, so you can use them with a straight back whatever your height. They also feature strong, wavy-edged blades that cut well, and come with a lifetime warranty.
What are the Darlac DP812 Lawn Edging shears like to use?
These edging shears have telescopic handles, which adjust from 66cm to 108cm so they can be used at the perfect height and avoid back pain. The handles feature a soft grip and are made from aluminium, making them extremely lightweight and comfortable to handle too. The flip locks that are used to extend the handles are made from plastic, but they feel substantial and are easy to operate. The carbon steel blades are coated with a non-stick finish, and are wavy to ensure a sharp cut, and measure 29cm in length, making them one of the longest in the group we tested, which means edging the lawn is fast and efficient. To sharpen, you need to remove the plastic cap (which can be fiddly), undo the bolt that holds the blades together and off you go.
Who are the Darlac DP812 Lawn Edging shears most useful for?
These shears are ideal for anyone who struggles with back pain or aching joints and would benefit from adjustable handles, so they don’t have to bend to use them.
Are the Darlac DP812 Lawn Edging shears good value for money?
Although one of the most expensive edging shears we tested, the combination of adjustable handles, wavy-edged carbon steel blades, lightweight aluminium handles and a lifetime guarantee represents great value for money.
