Crocosmias form dense clumps of upright sword-shaped foliage, from which sprays of bright orange or red flowers, carried in branched spikes, appear in late summer.
Crocosmia 'Emily McKenzie' is a compact crocosmia. Its wide, bright orange flowers have an attractive mahogany throat. It's ideal for the growing in swathes through the herbaceous border and the flowers are excellent for cutting.
Grow Crocosmia 'Emily McKenzie' in well-drained soil in full sun. In colder regions choose a sheltered site and mulch the corms in autumn to proect them over winter. Divide congested clumps in spring.
