Follow the paths, laid out in 1823, to discover the walled garden’s diversity of seasonal flowers, its large collection of ancient apple trees, including many local heritage varieties, and a small vineyard. Lots of other crops flourish in the vegetable, fruit and salad borders. Take a walk in the woods among the veteran trees or through the parkland to an Iron Age hillfort for sweeping views.
