Surrounding the impressive castle are beautiful medieval-style gardens. The walled herb garden is filled with more than 50 culinary and medicinal herb varieties that were in common cultivation in the medieval period. You can also explore the vineyard, maze, rose garden, and bowling green surrounded by flowers and shrubs grown in this country before 1600. There is also a wild boar park, observation beehive, rare sheep breeds and falconry displays.
Important update
With the gradual easing of lockdown restrictions, gardens in the 2-for-1 directory are beginning to open.
To ensure the safety of visitors and staff, many have special measures in place, including pre-booking and limiting the number of visitors.
Before visiting a garden, please contact the garden directly to determine their opening status and any restrictions that may apply.
Please note: we’re unable to keep all individual 2-for-1 garden pages updated, but we will publish the latest details that we have on our weekly updates page from week commencing Monday 8 June, 2020.
