Below the palace lies a garden of vibrant borders and unusual shrubs and trees. Designed by Percy Cane between 1947 and 1952, this is the only known complete example of Cane’s work left in Scotland. In the small herb garden, look out for the fascinating information on the plants’ traditional medicinal uses.
Important update
With the gradual easing of lockdown restrictions, gardens in the 2-for-1 directory are beginning to open.
To ensure the safety of visitors and staff, many have special measures in place, including pre-booking and limiting the number of visitors.
Before visiting a garden, please contact the garden directly to determine their opening status and any restrictions that may apply.
Please note: we’re unable to keep all individual 2-for-1 garden pages updated, but we will publish the latest details that we have on our weekly updates page from week commencing Monday 8 June, 2020.
