Just a ferry ride from Plymouth, this peaceful haven offers walks through shady woodland, open rides full of wildflowers, and views of the Lynher estuary. Famed for its camellias, it is home to over 600 different types, including the National Collection of Camellia japonica, and nearly 250 stunning magnolias. There is plenty to enjoy across the seasons, including bluebells, rhododendrons, hydrangeas, birch trees and woodland wildlife. Stroll along the Tamar Estuary and watch out for shelducks and oystercatchers on the Lynher mud flats, and kingfishers by the Bath House pond. Top off your visit at the tearoom and enjoy a delicious Cornish cream tea!
Check before you travel
Before setting off check the garden’s website or call direct, as opening details can vary and one-off restrictions may apply.
We advise checking the garden’s own website or calling them direct to ensure the published details are accurate, as opening times and restrictions may vary.
Always take your 2 for 1 card with you
Some gardens have pre-booking systems in place – take your 2 for 1 card with you to validate your booking.
If a garden offers both pre-booking and walk-up options, we recommend booking prior to your visit to avoid disappointment should the garden be busy.
Please don’t make multiple pre-bookings or share your 2 for 1 card – card misuse will invalidate your discount claim at the garden.
