Hidden away in the Cornish countryside, The Japanese Garden near Newquay is a contemplative haven offering an incredible array of year-round colour, with magnificent cherry blossoms in early spring and autumnal displays of deep-red Japanese maples. In August, the garden bursts with life, filled with the vibrant greens on bamboos and bonsai. On summer days, iridescent damselflies flit across the ponds while golden koi shimmer lazily below. The carefully placed, shaped and tended plants include Japanese maples, mature azaleas, flowering cherries, bamboos, lilies and oak trees.
