Explore the amazing labyrinth of underground passages, grottoes and sunken ferneries. Then above ground, enjoy the sunlit ponds, ferny nooks and beautiful waterlilies. Built in 1895, these unique gardens were buried after the Second World War, then rediscovered in 2000 and restored to their original glory.
Important update
With the gradual easing of lockdown restrictions, gardens in the 2-for-1 directory are beginning to open.
To ensure the safety of visitors and staff, many have special measures in place, including pre-booking and limiting the number of visitors.
Before visiting a garden, please contact the garden directly to determine their opening status and any restrictions that may apply.
Please note: we’re unable to keep all individual 2-for-1 garden pages updated, but we will publish the latest details that we have on our weekly updates page from week commencing Monday 8 June, 2020.
