Garden highlights
Day 1:
We’ll spend the morning touring Bourton House in the company of its head gardener. The grounds offer three acres of rich planting surrounding an elegant 18th-century manor house. In the afternoon, we head to Sezincote – ‘a piece of India’ in the Cotswolds. The 200-year-old Mughal palace sits in a romantic landscape of temples, grottoes, waterfalls and canals reminiscent of the Taj Mahal.
Day 2:
We will take a guided tour of Rodmarton Manor, with a light lunch included. Late afternoon we will arrive at The Royal Gardens at Highgrove for an exclusive tour of the gardens. Highgrove has, for over 40 years, been managed to the organic and sustainable principles that HRH The Prince of Wales has long championed. An experienced guide will take you through these inspirational gardens, which include the cobble-patterned Thyme Walk, with its flanks of yew topiaries, the Walled Garden with its apple trees and rose arbours, the grand Italian fountain and the otherworldly setting of the Stumpery. Your tour will reveal how each of the amazing gardens have been crafted and offer a glimpse into the life of Prince Charles. After the tour, you will return to the beautiful Orchard Room to enjoy a three-course dinner with wine, talk and a Q&A session with Alan Titchmarsh.
Day 3:
We head to Miserden Estate, which won the HHA Garden of the Year Award in 2018 for its ongoing revival of this historic space. A talk and tour of the garden is followed by lunch (not included). You’ll spend the afternoon at Painswick Rococo Garden, where the head gardener will explain the fascinating stories behind the quirky follies in this 18th-century pleasure garden.
Day 4:
You’ll enjoy the morning on a private guided tour of the eight-acre Rockcliffe Gardens which boasts stunning yew topiary. Lunch in picturesque Chipping Campden will be followed by a tour of Upton Wold’s hidden garden. Privately owned, it has been lovingly created over 40 years and has been literally carved out of limestone. There is much to discover here, including over 170 walnut tree cultivars in its National Collection.
