Achilleas are short-lived perennials with flat, plate-like umbels which stand tall above fern-like foliage. Achillea 'Walther Funcke' bears huge plates of tiny, orange flowers with yellow centres, from late-spring through summer. Perfect for a sunny spot towards the back of an herbaceous border, it works well among other brightly coloured blooms. It makes a fantastic cut flower.

Grow Achillea 'Walther Funcke' in moist but well-drained soil in full sun to partial shade. Plants may need staking. Deadhead spent blooms to prolong flowering and either cut back blooms in autumn or leave the seedbeds in situ. Lift and divide congested clumps every three years, in autumn or spring.
