Small-flowered agave, Agave parviflora, is one of the smallest agaves available. Growing to just 20cm in height, it forms a symmetrical rosette of thin, sharp, waxy leaves with attractive white markings. Its leaf margins bear conspicuous white, curling ‘hairs’ that peel off near the base of the leaf. Small racemes of pale yellow flowers appear in summer.
For best results grow Agave parviflora under glass in well-drained soil in full sun. Reduce watering in winter and protect from frost. Propagate by offsets taken in autumn or spring.
