Commonly known as cloud grass, Agrostis nebulosa is a stunning annual grass grown for its billowing panicles bearing masses of tiny flowers, followed by seedheads.

In the garden, it's especially suited to growing in a meadow setting with plants like scabious, knapweed and lady's bedstraw. Indoors, it makes a brilliant and long-lasting cut flower – a generous bunch looks fantastic by itself.

For best results, direct sow Agrostis nebulosa where it is to flower on a prepared soil in full sun in April or May. Alternatively, sow indoors in March or April then plant out later in spring. Plants will readily self-seed but seedlings are easy to remove.
