Korean feather reed grass, Calamagrostis brachytricha, is a clump-forming, upright grass forming a gently arching fountain of grey-green foliage, from which tall, fluffy silver-grey flowerheads with hints of pink emerge in summer. It's suitable for growing in sun and partial shade, although it has a more upright habit when grown in full sun. The Royal Horticultural Society has given it its prestigious Award of Garden Merit.
For best results grow Calamagrostis brachytricha towards the middle of a mixed border. In late-winter, cut it back to ground level to allow new growth to emerge.
