Coreopsis verticillata, commonly known as tickseed, is an easy-to-grow herbaceous perennial native to North America. In summer and autumn it produces bright yellow flowers that stand out against fern-like foliage.

Coreopsis 'Lil Bang Starlight' is absolutely fascinating, as its blooms change colour based on their temperature. In warm conditions each flower petal is white with pink markings, but as temperatures dip they take on darker tones and some change colour completely to deep pink. Flowering from summer through to autumn, all blooms have an attractive yellow central eye, which makes them a magnet for bees and other pollinators. It’s perfect for growing at the front of a sunny border or in a container, and makes an excellent cut flower.

For best results, grow Coreopsis ‘Li'l Bang Starlight’ in full sun or partial shade in well-drained soil, though it will perform better in full sun.
