Cotyledon orbiculata is a South African native evergreen succulent bearing fleshy, round silvery leaves with fine red margins. In late summer orange bell-shaped flowers hang from tall stems. It's ideal for growing in containers both on its own and with other succulents, and in dry or gravel gardens.

Despite not commonly being grown in Britain, Cotyledon orbiculata is hardy to -5°C. However, for peace of mind it's good practice to bring plants under cover in autumn.

For best results grow Cotyledon orbiculata in full sun in gritty, well-drained soil in a sheltered spot. Water sparingly.
