Cucumis sativus 'Petita' bears high yields of half-size cucumbers. It's tolerant of lower temperatures than other varieties, making it ideal for growing in the British climate. Plants have only female flowers, meaning there's no longer any need to remove male flowers to prevent fertilisation and therefore bitter tasting fruit.

For best results, grow Cucumis sativus 'Petita' in the greenhouse. Train plants on nets or canes, and pinch out the growing tips when they reach the top of their support. Tie sideshoots in and pinch out fruiting stems to two leaves beyond a developing fruit. Water regularly and increase humidity by damping down the greenhouse floor. Cut fruits before they are too large or yellow.
