Dodecatheon clevelandii

Aptly named shooting star, Dodecatheon clevelandii produces bizarre flowers with cerise, downwards-facing, reflexed petals. It's great for brightening up a damp border or container display from mid- to late spring.

Dodecatheon clevelandii is ideal for growing in an alpine house, rock garden or container. For best results grow in moist soil in sun or partial shade. Plants are usually hardy but may need protecting in the harshest winters.
