Echium brevirame is endemic to the Canary island of La Palma. A strongly branching, low woody shrub, it bears narrow, spiny, leathery leaves and compact inflorescences of pure white, narrow flowers. It’s ideal for growing in a conservatory or greenhouse, and may be moved to a sheltered, sunny patio in summer.

Grow Echium brevirame in well-drained, nutrient-poor soil such as cactus compost, in full sun. Water sparingly in summer and keep dry in winter. Take care when handling as the sap can cause skin irritation and the whole plant is toxic if eaten.
