Elegia equisetacea is an attractive, reed-like plant, bearing upright stems from which large, red-brown flowers and golden seedheads appear from spring to autumn. It’s perfect for growing on its own as a focal point in the garden, or as part of a wider display. It’s also suitable for growing in a large container.

Grow Elegia equisetacea in moist but well-drained soil in full sun. Cut back old stems in spring.
