Enkianthus are easy, trouble free shrubs for acidic soil. They’re grown for their masses of delicate bell-shaped flowers that appear from mid-spring to early summer and their spectacular autumnal colours. Enkianthus are ideal shrubs for an open woodland garden or shady border.
Enkianthus cernuus f. rubens produces deep pink-red flowers from mid-spring to early summer. Deciduous foliage is a fresh green before turning an unmissable shade of ruby red in autumn. For best results grow Enkianthus cernuus f. rubens in fertile, moist but well-drained, acidic soil in sun or partial shade. The Royal Horticultural Society has given it the Award of Garden Merit (AGM)
