Euonymous hamiltonianus is a large shrub with very hard, dense wood, which was traditionally used for making wooden staffs and small implements. It's an attractive tree, particularly in autumn when the foliage turns a bright magenta pink, contrasting well with evergreens and other deciduous shrubs. The small insignificant flowers which appear in summer are followed in autumn by a profusion of pink fruits. These split open to reveal dark pink seeds.

Euonymus hamiltonianus 'Pink Delight' bears a profusion of particularly pink fruits, which contrast well with spectacular autumn foliage colour. For best results grow Euonymous hamiltonianus 'Pink Delight' in a sheltered spot in full sun to partial shade, in moist but well-drained soil.
