Native to Chile, Francoa sonchifolia bears attractive spikes of open, two-toned pink flowers, above a rosette of mid-green leaves. It’s gained so much popularity with florists that it’s earned the common name ‘bridal wreath’. Its long stems make it perfect for flower arranging, and last well in the vase.
Francoa sonchifolia 'Petite Bouquet' is a dwarf form of the species, with pink-purple flowers, each petal with a darker central blotch. Grow in well-drained, fertile soil in a sheltered, sunny spot such as in front of a south-facing wall, or a container on a sunny patio. Not fully hardy, it may need winter protection.
