Scotch Lovage, Ligusticum scoticum, is a rarely grown native perennial bearing thick, glossy green leaves from which umbels of tiny white flowers appear from June to August, followed by golden seed heads. It looks particularly good when grown in an informal situation, such as with ornamental grasses. Its flowers are attractive to pollinators.
Compact and clump-forming, it thrives in moist soil in full sun to partial shade. All parts of the plant are edible. Grow Ligusticum scoticum in moist but well-drained soil in full sun to full shade.
