Pale yellow-eyed grass, Sisyrinchium striatum, is a clump-forming perennial bearing fans of iris-like foliage, topped by clusters of pale yellow flowers in June and July.
It thrives in sunny positions and well-drained soil, so makes a lovely addition to gravel gardens. It combines well with lime-greens, silvers and purples.
For best results, grow Sisyrinchium striatum in full sun in moist, well-drained soil. Will self-seed, so look out for seedlings, which can be left where they are or planted elsewhere.
