Best Buy review video – the ARS PM-21 folding saw
In this in-depth review video Kay Maguire explains why the the ARS PM-21 folding saw was awarded BBC Gardeners’ World Best Buy status.
What are the main features of the ARS PM-21 folding saw?
This folding saw has a chrome plated carbon steel blade with impulse hardened teeth. It’s made from aluminium, with a shaped, rubber grip handle that has a hanging hook in the end and the blade can be folded safely in and out of the handle with the help of an easy safety catch.
What’s the ARS PM-21 folding saw like to use?
Surprisingly light and comfortable and really easy to use this folding saw cuts effortlessly through even thick, dense wood and the handle fits comfortably in the hand as you work. The impulse hardening helps the teeth stay sharp for a long time and they’re angled so the saw cuts on the pull stroke. This saw is easily light enough to slip into a pocket and carry around with you and the blade folds in and out of the handle via a simple safety catch. When open the blade locks securely in place and although it doesn’t lock back into the handle it stays firmly in place when not in use.
Who’s the ARS PM-21 folding saw most useful for?
This is an ideal saw for pruning jobs on the go with a longer blade that can tackle even larger branches. It’s light and easy enough to use if you lack strength and the curved blade makes it particularly handy for pruning branches above head height.
Is the ARS PM-21 folding saw value for money?
Priced just within the lower range in our test this saw is well made, easy and efficient to use and every single part is replaceable. It comes with a lifetime warranty and we think it’s excellent value for money.
